There has been so much positive feedback from students! Our sophomore and junior classes participated in Choices Matter’s interactive and riveting presentation series. One student shared this message:

Your perspective is very inspirational, especially with the things I’ve been going through–I really needed that. You’re such a strong individual and I appreciate people like you who are willing to go above and beyond for others; some people in this building probably really needed this today. There are no words to describe how wonderful our day at school was yesterday.

David was an outstanding speaker – his humor, music, honesty, was all spot on.

Teachers were telling me this morning that yesterday was one of the best experiences in their 20 years of teaching. The students were still talking about it today, we have been able to have conversations about forgiveness, determination, will power, and decision making.

I thought that the presentation did a very good job of highlighting the effects that your choices can have on others. Even if you think something will only impact you, you need to consider the broader scale and all of the possible scenarios to see whether or not it is truly a good idea.

I enjoyed the presentation because Mr. Emt seemed passionate about his work and presented beautifully. The positive message I got from the presentation was that even if life brings you down, you can always get back up and rebuild your goals. I would recommend Mr. Emt to other schools because he is relatable and a very nice guy. I relate to him because I was in a car crash once when I was going to my old school.

I just want to thank you and everyone involved in this program. Our students had such a powerful experience this morning. We are so thankful to have offered this program to our students.

My name is Anna. I play basketball; in the winter I ride horse. Pretty much all year, and I play feld hockey all year round.
I don’t know yet if I want to play field hockey in college but I know I want to be really good now and I want to be the best at it. Your speech helped me to realize that I can be the best, and nobody can tell me otherwise.
