I wanted to send you a quick thank you for your persistence in getting Choices Matter to Winslow High School. I know that principals can be hard to reach sometimes, but I truly appreciate you keeping on me to get Choices Matter and Steve Emt to Winslow High School. There was a great buzz at the school yesterday and I have heard from parents how their students had come home talking about the presentation.
I truly appreciate the opportunity for our school and hope we can work together again to make it happen. Not to mention that your team was awesome yesterday! Please share my thanks with them as well!

Hello there, I just wanted to take a minute to say thank you. My son had prom this past weekend and we had all the talks with him. We told them different choices of how to get out of situations, as well as who he could call. He said that you helped him realize that he needs to stay his age and enjoy life and when he came home from prom a little after midnight, he said that there was alcohol at the after party and that’s when he decided to go home. When raising kids, I know it takes a village and thanks to you, you are part of our village and keeping my son safe as well as making good choices. Thank you so very much for coming to Saint Bernard High School.

I wanted to tell you that the assembly yesterday was a huge success with the students and staff.

I was very impressed with all of the people involved. They were super friendly, on task, and very organized.

Please remember us in the fall for the 25-26 school year. We were so sad that most of our high school missed out on the presentation.

Thank you so much for helping to organize a really important message. Prom was the next day, and it was one of the best proms we have ever had since I have been here. I think the message the day before contributed to that and made students consider options and choices that they could or should make. We heard students talking about the message, so they were definitely paying attention.

My name is Anna. I play basketball; in the winter I ride horse. Pretty much all year, and I play feld hockey all year round.
I don’t know yet if I want to play field hockey in college but I know I want to be really good now and I want to be the best at it. Your speech helped me to realize that I can be the best, and nobody can tell me otherwise.
My favorite thing you said was, ‘Sky is not the limit.’

Hello Hillari – There are no words to describe how wonderful our day at school was yesterday. David was an outstanding speaker – his humor, music, honesty, was all spot on. Teachers were telling me this morning that yesterday was one of the best experiences in their 20 years of teaching. The students were still talking about it today, we have been able to have conversations about forgiveness, determination, will power, and decision making.

I found his story very inspiring and uplifting. It was great to see how he didn’t ruin his life over this mistake and kept pushing. I think that that is a great mindset to have in life. His experience in prison was a bit scary to me. It’s even more scary that he wasn’t addicted to alcohol, it was just a very big mistake. The speaker definitely taught me to be careful and consider all risks when dealing with peer pressure or any kind of addictive substance.

Recently, Tammy spoke at our school about the importance of safe driving, but most importantly driving with a license. Her speech at our school really altered the way I view life, because within seconds her son was taken from her in such a violent way. This outlook has caused me to always consider the consequences of my actions before I commit them, and how they would affect my loved ones. I really appreciate the time she took to spend at our school speaking out about things that altered her life so dramatically, to hopefully keep us and our loved ones safer.

Thank you so much for bringing the Choices Matter presentation to Saint Joseph High School. Fletcher Cleaves delivered a powerful message that truly resonated with our students. The kids were utterly engaged from beginning to end, and many shared how impactful and inspiring they found his story.
